Tiffany & Co. is currently seeking a Senior Technology Specialist. The primary purpose of this role is to focus on the delivery of Information Technology solutions for new and changing business processes. This position will lead the design and development efforts for custom software development on multi-platforms to support specified business functions. This individual will plan and direct systems analysis, design, and implementation of major technologies either by facilitating outside resources or by utilizing a small tactical staff. S/he will be responsible for the coordination of project tasks that require participation from other IT and user departments. In addition, they will be responsible for the timely and economic utilization of resources assigned to the project. The Senior Technology Specialist provides support and problem resolution for custom and package software applications.
The Senior Technology Specialist will participate in or lead requirements definition efforts at the program, process and system levels. This position will document results of the requirements definition process at the business process and technical level. Requirements may be for custom development or adaptation of third party or packaged application software. The Senior Technology Specialist will design new programs, processes and systems. Design may be custom or involve adaptation of or integration to third party or packaged applications software across multi -platforms. Design activities may involve learning package software and mapping business requirements to application capabilities. This position will use appropriate tools to document and communicate designs. S/he will develop new programs, processes and systems. Development may be executed using standard development tools or tools specific to third party software. New process development may involve the configuring of third party or packaged application software and/or custom development. Development may be across multi-platforms.
The Senior Technology Specialist will ensure the quality of developed and delivered IT capabilities. In addition, they will coordinate, execute and document systems testing. This position will ensure proper change control procedures are followed. This position will evaluate system integration impacts beyond the scope of specified change, as well as evaluate the work of junior team members for technical quality, adherence to standards and completeness. The Senior Technology Specialist will provide support as necessary to existing suite of applications within a functional area and solve software problems in a timley fashion. They will also provide support to user-customers on technical and process questions. This position will provide mentoring to junior technical staff, as well as maintain current technical skills and development of new skills through formal and informal skills development regimens. S/he will provide periodic updates to project leaders and managers on status of activities.
To be qualified for this position you must have:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent job related experience (6-8 years)
.NET and SQL Server background with expertise in .Net framework (2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 4.5)
Web based Application Development using , C#,
Database programming (SQL Server 2000/2005/2008) with ODBC/OLEDB
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
High level of motivation; ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast changing technical environment
