Our cient in the North Jersey area is currently seeking a Manager, Database Administrator for a Direct Hire opportunity.
The primary responsibilities of the position are to work with the Senior DBA to install, configure, troubleshoot, and assist in maintaining the company's database environments. This includes activities to implement, configure, and troubleshoot database instances as well as replication, backup, partitioning, storage, and access. Other tasks include the monitoring and optimization of system performance using index tuning, disk optimization, and other methods and the administration of user privileges within the database environment. Also in scope for this position is conducting SOX/security audits, preparing change management documentation
The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate with both IT resources and business stakeholders to effectively accomplish tasks. Although the majority of the activities in scope for this role are operational in nature, it is expected that the individual in this position will be able to offer input of a strategic nature in terms of the future of the database environments. A strong customer focus is required for this position.
Essential Technical Skills Include:
? 8-12 years of experience.
? Working knowledge of and experience with the administration of both Oracle 10/11 and SQL Server 2005 databases on Windows platforms
? Working knowledge of and experience with Oracle 10g database concepts & structure
? In-depth expertise with SQL
? Working knowledge of Oracle Grid Control
? Understanding of Oracle backup & recovery methodologies
? Working knowledge of data warehouse and business intelligence impact on database architecture, tuning, etc.
Preferred Experience Includes:
? Prior food industry/CPG company experience
? Exposure to Informatica, DataMirror & DTS
? Star schema design and working knowledge of cube-based data structures
? Knowledge of BPCS, PeopleSoft & Kronos data structures
? Virtualization
.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
