Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Specialist or Senior Specialist, Franchise Services to join our team at the Parsippany - 22 Sylvan Way location in Parsippany, New Jersey.

Job Summary

This position supports all Wyndham Hotels & Resorts ( WHR ) franchised brands in North America and Canada, must collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Franchise Development, Brand Leaders, Franchise Administration, Brand Operations and Collection Agencies and reports into the Manager of Franchise Services.

The position is responsible for (i) the cash collection efforts related to the negotiation and settlement of liquidated damages and outstanding accounts balances as a result of the termination of license agreements by our franchisees, (ii) the cash collection efforts related to outstanding accounts balances of prior licensees as a result of a transfer of ownership and (iii) negotiating and processing all license agreements that are undergoing a transfer of ownership. This will include but not limited to making/fielding cash collection calls; resolving invoice disputes/overcoming objections in the payment and settlement process; supporting the Manager Franchise Services on the relicensing process related to transfers of ownership; and other miscellaneous/ad hoc projects.

Responsibilities
1 Pursue outstanding accounts balances to assist in achieving WHR free cash flow targets. Job requirements include but are not limited (i) collecting on settlement agreements and collection of A/R and liquidated damages for all terminated sites and (ii) providing superior customer service internally/externally with customers by being responsive and proactive.
2 Negotiate and Execute Relicensing Agreements includes research and due diligence on existing agreements, individual site operating stats and challenges including market conditions, competition and renovation costs
3 Forecasting monthly pipeline/cash collections targets
4 identify and implement process improvements on a continuous basis
5 Misc ad hoc projects

Complexities

The decisions made in this position directly impact the company s revenue and cash collection targets. This position is expected to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment and:
(A) will exhibit superior customer services by demonstrating our Count On Me culture while carrying out the requirements of this role. (B) is moderately autonomous but having the ability to make independent decisions while negotiating deal terms. In the event the Sr Coordinator needs to negotiate deal terms that are outside of his/her authority, he/she will seek advice and guidance with the Manager/Director prior to offering. (C) will work directly with our customers, past and present, and provide assistance, clarification, resolve disputes and overcome all objections related to the collection of all financial obligations as a result of the termination of a license agreement or the transfer of ownership. (D) does not currently have any supervisory responsibilities.

Although routine for this role, the decisions that are made daily will have significant impact to the WHR Free Cash Flow and bottom line and Royalty stream. The level of impact on the organization as a whole is mitigated by an approval process that is rigorously adhered to as well as several built in checks and balances.


Scope/Financial Responsibility
This role will have a significant impact on the execution of the Company s strategic priority of retaining rooms and properties, as well as direct contribution to Company s Revenue, EBITDA and Cash Collection targets. This position is expected to contribute to the goals of this Department, which delivered over $9 million in Liquidated Damages in 2020, $5 million in Initial Franchise Fees in 2020, plus millions more in recurring Royalty and Marketing fees generated as a result of signing long term license agreements for the organization. The activities that could affect financial results of WHR are directly related to the negotiations and cash collection of Initial Franchise Fees, recurring Royalty, Marketing and Reservation System fees and liquidated damages on terminated accounts, and cash collections on termintaed/transferred accounts.
